The project will seek to bring Europe closer to our citizens, combining content as teaching civic participation through which to articulate a mechanism at local level to fight against the incipient Euroscepticism suffering Europe".

"Let the citizens more in the center of all political action. The European Union is not a project of elites, quite the opposite. Born and grows to ensure the welfare of all citizens"

Along with Gijon in the implementation of the project it has formed a consortium in which are present five cities or organizations of European cities, in order to produce a multiplier effect, a territorial connection between different territorial areas and finally cooperation common towards a better Europe.

As forthe substance of the draft it will be geared to achieving the following objectives:

  • On one hand, the project will seek to link to citizens of six European cities to understand the European Union, in order to acquire a knowledge of its institutional structure, its history, its achievements and its system of multilevel governance.
  • On theother hand, it aims to promote one proactive understanding was the response of the origins, consequences, motivations and possible solutions boom Euroscepticism and the effects this may have on the European project.
  • In addition, this project has the goal ofcontributing understanding about the EU, its image, promotion of citizen participation, European citizenship, identity and tolerance and understanding of different European states.
